I cant comment on how good a nvt is uphill but many have had them so i am sure someone will advise you. But remember if you are not so bothered about max speed you can change the sprockets to lower the gearing or buy a later moped without pedals as these have to be able to climb hills unassited hi rally9. that is interesting a moped with out pedals are you saying a later moped would climb hills better . only my first thought was a tomos flexer 50cc kick start & was thinking of buying one but they don't sell them anymore do they . george

The same applies to the Garelli mentioned earlier, which was available as 1-speed 'Automatic', 2-speed 'Bimatic', and 3-speed '3V' models.

There is a tomos retro moped on ebay that is ex motorhome used i think they were slightly modified puch maxi which might be another option

There is a tomos retro moped on ebay that is ex motorhome used i think they were slightly modified puch maxi which might be another option hi . yes i did see those he is selling 2 keeps them in the motorhome garage but mine is a half garage so not big enough . wife wanted one with a island bed so that cuts out a big garage hence the bike rack . so all i want is a moped round about 50kg or there about & can climb at least 10% thanks for you input . George

Just a thought james central suggested the motobecane x7v which has variable transmission small wheels and folds down for transport it may fit in your garage
