Not quick up the steeper ones but the variator (infinite belt gearing) does it’s job well. That makes me wonder: what about a Cady? I'm arguing from a position of ignorance here, as I've never ridden one, but I know the theory of the Isodyne system is that it should pull well, if slowly; they're quite lightly built and there are variator models. They may be slow but would be faster than the electric bike. Anyone with experience of a Cady who can confirm or refute this idea?

I rebuilt a Cady including the engine but it is the lowest BHP of the Moby engines. I didn’t feel any lowdown pulling power but am a big build rider so may being unfair. I think they are fine for lightweight riders but my AV42 pulled so much better but ultimately I have restored the 50v with the variator and so far I have only had to use the pedals to start it. Lovely machine.

I use a Mobylette 50v which has climbed all hills so far with a big built rider. Not quick up the steeper ones but the variator (infinite belt gearing) does it’s job well. My Mobylette AV42 had no variator and needed help on steeper hills hi all & raypaice
thanks for that has anyone got a mobylette moped or similar for sale please cash waiting . George

You could try the dedicated mobylette/raleigh forum page too. Google "Mobylette Proboards Forum" it free to register and you get access to everything then including manuals help from the members, buy and sell pages, events etc etc. Or they are often on ebay but prices are a bit higher there

Regarding make, consider availability of parts and support. Mobylette cañot be beaten on that score. I have 3 mobys and would not consider lifting any if them 3 feet up on the back of a camper. I've spent a lot if time in France and Spain and yes you would always get help but do you want to be that restricted?

Have a look at Watling Motorack, thats what I have. Have you worked out what bike you want? hi rocknrod . like i said to raypaicie don't want to fit a tow bar or any heavy duty fittings as my motorhome payload will be maxed out just with a 50/ish kg moped
otherwise i would get a 125cc or something similar . i am hoping a garelli gulp will do the job for me which i can get my hands on any thoughts ? George09

I would research the weights of all the mopeds that you like first then decide on the other requirements

I cant comment on how good a nvt is uphill but many have had them so i am sure someone will advise you. But remember if you are not so bothered about max speed you can change the sprockets to lower the gearing or buy a later moped without pedals as these have to be able to climb hills unassited
