I've noticed a drip from the bottom of the Gurtner carburettor which forms a small pool of oily deposit on the garage floor.
This is obviously the petrol oil mixture, but I'm unsure as to why it forms in the first place.
Yesterday I ran the bike and just cycled it up and down our drive for 10 mins and then parked it up. It formed quite a pool on the floor afterwards.
However, back in the better weather after about an hours' cycle, it still formed a deposit of the floor, but less so.
Any advice appreciated, thank you.

The old gurtner carbs often leak you can try to clean the float needle & its seat with brasso type metal polish or turn the fuel tap off & run the carb dry after running the engine if you cannot cure the problem you can by a new gurtner or change over to a sha dellorto which is a more modern design

That's helpful advice thanks. I know the previous owner fitted a new Gurtner, so perhaps he had this issue.....but not resolved.
Will try running with fuel tap off after a run and see how that goes first of all.
Cheers.
