Hi everyone, Does anyone have any ideas on what kind of autocycle this is please?! I have inherited it from my great uncle in law and am now part way through the restoration. The engine is a Villiers Junior Deluxe which I have managed to get running and the bike is now in bits. Painted grey but have found burgundy underneath. We are leaning towards a Rudge but any input welcome! Thanks, Kev.

Yep all the features of a Rudge but production was taken over by Norman during hostilities. The frame number may help with identification!

GKA registrations were issued by Liverpool CBC between January and September 1940 - so it's a Rudge rather than the Norman version. All Liverpool's registration records were destroyed, so there'll be no more information from that direction.

Thanks for additional information HKA wasn't used till AUG 1946 hence I assumed 528 would be somewhere in the middle 43ish, presumably Liverpool had other series to use before going to H.

Also maybe worth looking on the other side, that's where 2 of mine are.

They can be on either side. I think the 102 is a red herring - I've seen 102 stamped in the same place on another Rudge. The actual frame number is stamped in a vertical column and the 110 on this one fits with that.

There you go then: A nice early 1939 built Rudge registered in Liverpool early 1940.
Something to aspire too dress optional lol
