No Dave, I had left by then but I have heard that there was some unpleasantness with the residents and they were shut down. Sadly it looks as if doubt has been cast upon a return fixture.

"Strange day today, lots of well mannered, good people gathered at Bruisyard Village Hall to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research Charity, as it was a Bike show unsurprisingly a lot of people turned up on Motorbikes ! Every one was enjoying themselves and willingly throwing notes and coins into the Charity donation buckets being passed around. A local band "Ticking Time Bomb" set up outside and started playing some nice music, unfortunately due to an oversight regarding the venues music licence, the band had to stop playing and were asked to move inside, regrettably this just wasn't possible as a Rock band did not agree with the noise limit device which is installed. Result: a curtailed show and a LOT of very annoyed/ disappointed people and no more money being raised for a very worthy cause.. My thanks to my friends from the Norfolk Section of the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club for riding down to support the event, and to everyone else who brought their lovely machines for everyone else to admire - including MANY local Bruisyard residents who had no problem with what was going on. Congratulations to Ron Tubby from our section who took the "Best Japanese" bike award for his superb Honda 500-4 ... 😀 UPDATE ON YESTERDAY's SHOW Apparently it was due to a technicality that the music had to be stopped; the village hall licence only allows music to be played inside, the band did try to play inside but literally one note from the Bass Guitar set the device off which cuts the power, everything was tried to overcome this but it was to no avail. The band moved outside -which was so much better on a lovely day- and EVERYONE was enjoying the whole day, the bar was selling lots of drinks and took over £400 - for the benefit of the village hall ! You would have thought that because the event was for such a worthy cause and the time of day the show was being held this could have been overlooked for once, possibly with a bit more tact, diplomacy and some compromise a solution might have been found, but apparently some local Bruisyard residents had complained - although it seems strange that not one of them commented on any posts regarding the days events- but it was not to be, so everyone gracefully accepted the situation for what it was. On a brighter note over £800 was donated by those that attended all of which will be donated to the Brain Tumour Research Charity. Lessons have been learnt and hopefully with co-operation of whoever is in charge of the Village Hall next year we will be able to hold a second bike show at the same venue in 2023. I will be making no further comments regarding the Bike show."
