Hi all, does anyone know the thread size of the exhaust manifold to tailpipe studs (villiers Junior De-luxe 98cc) I have tried loads from my boxes of bits but only managed to fine a couple of bolts that are a bit of a sloppy fit.
Any help will be most welcome.
Regards Larry

I don't know the size ... but I can tell you that they are the same as the shorter studs that hold the manifolds onto the cylinder block.

Apologies if you know all this already ... but studs commonly have different thread pitches at each end, so you'll have to remove a stud to measure it properly.

You are right and I never thought of that, I do not have a stud to take out, it is a complete engine without any studs or bolts on the manifold (to exhaust pipe) the top manifold bolts to the barrel are not the same size they are a lot smaller. Thanks Larry

Tailpipe to exhaust box studs have the same part number as the shorter manifold studs - so, if they are different sizes now it probably means that someone has stripped the original thread and recut them to a larger size - and who knows what size they might have chosen.

Thankyou again JamesCentral I will keep searching my boxes of bits to find a couple of suitable bolts, the engine came with the manifold, gasket and the short stubby pipe about 2" long so there will be no pressure on the bolts, I will use the nearest I can find with some loctite on the threads and do them up gently
Thanks for your help
