Sunday 22nd May 2022 This would be a good date for somebody to organise a run! 40 years after the first road run from the Museum of East Anglian Life 23rd May 1982.

In the last few years, that weekend in May would have been the Reservoir Dogs run, had Covid not intervened.

The 39th East Anglian Run will be on 22nd May. The format will be pretty much the same as the last CARD run. There's a shorted route for cyclemotors (I contemplated using the 1982 route but, as both men and machines are 40 years older now, decided against making everyone ride all the way to Lavenham and back). Please, if you can, come on a cyclemotor, autocycle, or pre-1960 moped.

Went to the 'Bells' today; Debs seem really pleased that we'll be going there, so that's the drinks stop sorted.

As regular riders know, the Five Bells is a proper pub and doesn't do meals. Normally we'd return to the Osier Café at the Museum in Stowmarket; however... The Museum of East Anglian Life has recently transformed into the Food Museum and, as part of the exercise, the café is being revamped. It might not be open again by the time of our run. Other cafés are available in Stowmarket, or you could bring a packed lunch.

This is the uncropped version of the photo of Don Upshaw: That's Andrew Roddham in the background. Don let us have a sheet of contact prints of photos from the run, but the pictures were only meant for the editor to decide how to lay out the article. There was no need for the prints to last, so they weren't fixed; by the time scanners became affordable, the photos had faded over the years.
