Hello Everyone, Just curious I've seen one or two projects up for sale stating they are Nova exempt,I thought all imported bikes had to have a NOVA to get them registered in the UK. Are there exemptions, age?,or is this just a ploy to move an un-registable project on?

Under 49cc does not require a NOVA. I don’t think there are any other exemptions but I’m no expert.

Under 49cc does not require a NOVA. I don’t think there are any other exemptions but I’m no expert. From the Gov website: If your vehicle has an engine of 48cc or less (7.2kw or less if it’s electric), you can register it without telling HMRC first.

HMRC does not count fractions of a cc, so 48.9cc counts as 48 and is exempt. 49.0cc needs NOVA.

Getting a NOVA declaration done is not difficult.....don`t let it put you off a bargain,
