Hi folks. New here. In fact new to mopeds! Already have a velosolex 3300 from 1966 but it’s misbehaving itself so found a Puch . It’s a 69 MS50V 2 speed. A runner, though needing some fettling as it seems to be running rich under load. Up until yesterday I’d never ridden anything with manual gears. Scared myself silly! 🤣 Attachments:

A runner, though needing some fettling as it seems to be running rich under load. There is a member on a Facebook group who recently posted about one of these running rich, he discovered it was a air bleed screw and worked opposite to what was expected of a jet screw (I think).

Cheers for that. I’ll have a poke around at weekend.

Cheers for that. I’ll have a poke around at weekend. This is what he said it may help! "I've solved the problem of my Puch VS50D running rich by turning the pilot screw the right way to weaken it! Sounds daft but the instructions on internet, for the none standard Arreche/Amal carb fitted, say screw the pilot screw in to weaken the mixture - BUT IT'S WRONG. I've checked out the passages in the carb and it's screw out to weaken as it's regulating the air bleed. Good news is that it's now running even better and it was no slouch when it was running too rich. And it starts amazingly well."

Ah. The ms has a bing carb. The throttle needle is on a spring that you can adjust the height of. You (apparently) can move it up or down, therefore in or out the main jet to adjust the mixture. In theory…. 😂

I was hoping it wouldn’t come to changing jets. That seems like an easy way to disaster! 😂
