Hi I'm looking for a pair of handlebars to fit an 1953 49cc Excelsior Autobyke, I have the machinery to make a set if I could either have the loan or working drawings of the bars. Any help would be much appreciated.

ABM I could take some pictures and rough measurements but they would be difficult to replicate as brackets for clutch, front brake and decompressor levers are all welded/brazed on.

Hi Thanks for your quick reply to my handlebar enquiry. In the 60's my father rode the Autobyke to work and I maintained it for him and to make the throttle control easier for him I changed the bars over and fitted set of bars from an old motorcycle complete with the standard twist grip throttle control which still remains fitted to it and over the years the original bars became lost. I've been searching for an original set so I can return the Autobyke back to original. I do take on board what you say re the difficulty in making a set and the problems re the control levers etc being brazed onto the bars but as I said I do have the machinery to re manufacture these type's of parts but as I haven't got an original to copy I can't really make a set. If it's of any interest to anybody I do have machinery to remanufacture and repair un-obtainable parts i.e. tin work such as tanks, tool box's etc. Regards ABM
