Hey there! I'm a newbie with a Simson Schwalbe :-) It's taken me a while to get my hands on one of these iconic little East German cold war 'peds, but now it's here, running and ready to receive some love. Here it is (it's the blue one, not the yellow one ) It came to me from California of all places. It's a bone stock original 1970 KR51/1, rust free, coated in desert sand and starts first kick. Let the registration shenanigans begin! Tim

No, I can't see it either (I can't see it on my mobile either ... but if you've seen my mobile, you'll understand why).

I'm hoping that I've fixed the broken image in the first post, but navigating the vagaries of Google Photos is a roll of the dice pretty much every time!

It was strange that I could see it on my mobile, it must of been something to do with google images being on that. That's technology for you: I googled for a bus timetable today and ended up watching the bus on it's tracked route. Nice bike good luck with the registration.

Nice, I had a 51/2 some years ago, a yellow one, it was a nice thing to ride until the rust in the tank decided to invade the carb. I bought a 6 port 60cc kit from Germany for it. Easy to get parts for them, enjoy it...

I've dropped an email to the club re: getting a dating certificate. Unfortunately, because it was never registered in the US there's no documentation to go with it, other than the NOVA. Simson conveniently stamped the year of manufacture right there on the chassis plate, but I'm guessing that won't be enough for the DVLA. I'm checking my Inbox for a reply to my enquiry with what can only be considered an unhealthy regularity! Obsessive? Me? erm... Li'l bit.

It was when i looked for a new tank that I realised just how plentiful and inexpensive parts are for these machines. I'm still surprised that the DVLA data says there are very few over here in the UK. Still...much more interesting than a Cub and I've always like to be different when it comes to my automotive adventures. This suits me juuuuuust fine :-)

Did you include the required 4 photos 1 of each side of complete bike, 1 clearly showing frame number, 1 clearly showing engine number any information you have and your address? There is No team sitting there waiting for enquires, just an unpaid volunteer who has other interests and a life. No acknowledgements are normally sent, straight forwards are dealt with promptly, those requiring research take longer. Be patient and if you have sent the required information as if by magic a large "Please Do Not Bend" envelope will drop through your letter box (if it is big enough).

Oh, I promise I was absolutely not making any kind of complaint at all. I only sent an enquiry email, explaining the situation (with a couple of pics) asking if the club could help me and what I'd need to do next. The obsessive Inbox checking is entirely a quirk of mine! I'm not *that* guy, honest!

Seen it before when somebody was asking if all was OK within the club, (this was on the Tuesday after a bank holiday weekend when they sent the enquiry on the Friday).

Hmmm...maybe I should send a second message containing all of the info you mentioned. I guess someone will still need to reply, to tell me how to pay the fee.
