Don't think I have seen front forks like that before ! I think there might be a set of those in my cellar. Would it be correct to assume they are an after market part then and not a genuine Excelsior item you raided ?

BSA WINGED WHEEL AUTOCYCLE WHEEL?
I don't think it's for a BSA, I know it's not for a winged wheel and pretty certain it's not autocycle But it is a wheel and has lots of spokes and looks an odd size, any advance?

... and only one bearing cup. I assume the other would be in whatever fits into the 4 holes in that side of the hub - sprocket? brake drum? Also, I can't really see how wide it is. Apart from motor cycle, other possibilities are cyclecar and carrier tricycle.

Apart from motor cycle, other possibilities are cyclecar and carrier tricycle. I concur, possibly from a carrier tricycle such as (but not specifically) a Warrick, Gundle, or Pashley etc.

Vintage Autocycle Frame Section. Excelsior / James / New Hudson
What Autocycle frame would this be from? I will start with it's not Excelsior / James or New Hudson!

OMG that’s amazing! I wish I had the money to buy it. And put it on my mantelpiece! I’m sure my wife wouldn’t mind? 🤣

And put it on my mantelpiece! Probably all you could do with it ... it would need an SVA test to put it on the road.

Cotterless crank and v brakes 1920s ? More mountain bike than motorbike I agree and spoilt by cheap and nasty plastic pedals. Well executed in the main and a talking piece
