Look good. Since two have number plates, can you not just apply for a replacement log book?

Look good. Since two have number plates, can you not just apply for a replacement log book? Only with documentary evidence that confirms the frame number ie an old log book or council records. Just having a plate on the bike is not going to get anywhere (unless it is already on the DVLA database).

Random search of some "old pictures" threw up this picture from 2007. It was before I had a digital camera and was probably when I acquired it !
Note the chains were off, probably because it was seized then (I fitted a rear inner tube and loosely placed the chains for my pictures). This is from "Smiths Autocycles" archive, wonder what it's story was before then and when it had the colour change?

Cover off today and it wasn't seized as such, bit of toing and froing and she was turning over. The cacb hadn't faired to well Not surprising stuck out the front like that Bonus: a good spark spinning with an electric drill.

Fitted a front tube, exhaust and carb from a Cyclemaster and after a while she fired up, even the clutch is working after all these years
Clicking on the picture should take you to a video.

Both running now. After umpteen years of slumber. It did have a wrong (Amal) carb fitted. somebody even made a new intake stub found a correct carb after a lot of faffing about and with a weak orange spark it did eventually fire up. There is a video but I will spare you the excitement and me getting annoyed waiting for it to load.

...though not for the hard ones ... Cyclemates are straightforward, but when it's some unheard of moped that you brought back from Andorra, it can take a little longer.

Yes got to agree dave.andrew is very efficient at the date relating.my mate sent some papers in before he joined the EACC.to. The Honda owners club and it took almost 4 months to get them back.but as Andrew it a genuine moped enthusiastic person himself think that makes all the difference..😁👍🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️.

Had it years never used it, clutch and lights all working wiped over with an oily rag it looks good in the sun.

Sent the V55/5 applications today. Watch this space. Nice sight on the hall floor this morning.
Including 2x Cyclemate V5C's with consecutive numbers. No inspections this time and and done in just over the month (counting the weekends, a bank holiday and a 4 day strike that's not bad) Happy Days.
