Has anybody downloaded a VAT NOVA1 form recently? The only version I can find is from 2013 wondering if there is an updated version or do you have to phone and ask. Note I can't do these on line as they would of been imported years ago before NOVA was introduced.

Note I can't do these on line as they would of been imported years ago before NOVA was introduced. I now have an updated version, it has grown to 8 pages now! Maybe I will phone and ask for a couple (it's in a greenie colour and my printer keeps telling me my ink is low). Apparently when you phone they encourage an online application. WTS

Form HMRC 02/20 is 8 pages, but to be honest not that many boxes to fill in for us.
The guide they say to read first (also 8 pages) did throw me as it's for the old 2013 form.
Nearly done (need the mileage), cover letter drafted. Watch this space

With that about to change it is recommended that stuff that should of been done gets done ASAP. Who knows what will happen after Jan 1st!

Saw the warning in the club mag. so sent off an application for a little German 100cc machine by post to somewhere in Dover but got a replies from Belfast. Downloaded the form from the web. Yes, there are quite a lot of pages, but a good deal of it doesn't apply so doesn't need to filled in, Acquired the bike back in '16 and it had already been in the UK for some years before. The NOVA number arrived today by email. Here is a picture if you are interested, it's an Imme R100

I see that the latest version of the NOVA1 form says which makes it look as if NOVA will be needed even on UK-made vehicles that have never left the country!
Red Tape: something Britain leads the world in ... reminds you of the Circumlocution Office.

Ah But weren't we told in 1984 that if it's not put onto the centralised computer it wouldn't get added later ? and credit where credit is due HMRC are turning the paper VAT nova 1 forms round in less than 2 weeks, "should" make the DVLA application more of a formality instead of them returning everything.

Ah But weren't we told in 1984 that if it's not put onto the centralised computer it wouldn't get added later ? We were ... but I've no idea what that has to do with NOVA. That was all about keeping old registrations; ie: what is now the V765 scheme. V765s have no need of NOVA. There was never any threat to stop age-related registrations, which are the ones where NOVA does apply. As far as I know, the FBHVC doesn't know either why this 'have purchased a vehicle in the UK which is unregistered or your vehicle has had a break in registration' clause has been added to the form - there's been no announcement from DVLA about it and I don't think DVLA is insisting on it ... yet. It might be that HMRC have just resigned themselves to the idea that it's going to happen so they might as well be ready.
