I have today been contacted by Peter Evans brother to our sadly departed mopeding mate Dave. Dave' funeral will be 11;15 Monday 2nd December at Seven Hills Crematorium Nacton. Peter was intending on riding a bike and says others may like too as well. (more details will have to follow on this) There will be a get together afterwards.
Hi Dave I have only just got to know about the sad loss of one of our colleagues Mr Dave Evans off another eacc club member.as most people that knew Dave would try to attend as many rallies that he could .Dave will be sadly missed within the autocycle/ moped world.and we from the EACC northern section the Rotherham roamers South Yorkshire send our condolences.and deepest sympathy to daves.family.regards John.
We had a meeting tonight with the lady that will run the service. She suggested that perhaps if any of your members are coming, perhaps they wait at the gate of Seven Hill for his coffin to arrive and ride in first? Or after car, or line the last 100 yards. It of course would mean they would have to dismount quickly to get in OK A piece of road opposite Seven Hills is annexed. Parking for everybody.
I really would like to thank the EACC for giving David a perfect sending off.
It was so nice to see you assemble a final ride together.
The Sun was out, the three mopeds riding that last 50 metres to the service doors, parking a while whilst giving off a cloud of blue two stroke oil fumes, just brilliant.
From my speech:
What is so great about the EACC is, it does not matter what you ride, cleaned or uncleaned, rusty or chromed up, fast or slow, It embellishes the true essence of being on powered two wheels. The joy of the wind in your face and the feeling of freedom on the roads.
I hope you continue to use the Orwell Yacht Club for future rides. Rudi is a member there. I think it was David who got him into riding little bikes? A really nice person.
